Our History

“Making America Greener One State at a Time ®

In 1990, President and product developer, Karoleen Alexander had a vision of the direction she wished to take her company. Growing environmental damage was affecting our planet and she was determined to align herself with corporate forces, governments and projects that would arise to counteract this dangerous trend. By 1994, management had developed close working relationships with many recycling companies throughout the world and was carefully tracking all new technology related to the environment. As expected, public awareness and concern was growing rapidly. Governments were actively seeking ways to reduce pollution and citizens were increasingly willing to do their part. Preservation of the environment was becoming an important part of everyday life.

In 1995, the company began focusing their development efforts on new products that would offer sustainable surfacing alternatives created from recycled tires. In the US 290,000,000 million tires fill the landfills in the US alone. If useful products could be made from old tires, pollution would be lessened and customers would be well served.

A steady stream of new products began to enter the market . The introduction of these environmentally focused products was preceded by careful testing and many experimental installations designed to evaluate longevity, durability, safety, cost effectiveness, color fastness, toxicity, bacteria , urban runoff and installation techniques.

The emphasis on using recycled materials and encouraging water conservation coincided with a growing government and public concern regarding these important issues. In 1999, after years of testing and working with synthetic turf manufactures worldwide, PolyTurf artificial grass was introduced to the Department of State Architects in California as an alternative to natural grass replacement. The concept of using recycled materials designed for safety in artificial turf sport fields was just beginning in the United States.

Management looks at our environmental challenges as one of problems and solutions, working closely with state agencies, local governments and landscape architects we have been able to successfully emphasize the favorable environmental impact of this fake grass concept.

With the extensive drought we are facing in many parts of the world our New XTREME TURF PREMIER artificial grass direct products focus on reducing maintenance costs, water conservation, minimizing potential liabilities, urban run-off, recyclability , durability, esthetics and safety concerns. Our synthetic grass products meet CPSC (Consumer Products Safety Commission ) guidelines and have undergone over 46 standard lab and sport performance tests.
